Profile

Michael is experienced in world-wide operations whilst leading and managing teams of 15-350 personnel in peace and war. This range of experiences and breadth of knowledge have the capacity to strengthen any commercial project or operation.

He is a professional mariner with over forty years’ experience in both naval command (former Clearance Diver with exchange service in the Royal Navy and USN) and commercial operations, where driving innovation and efficiency were paramount to successful business outcomes. In the last 20 years his provision of technological and process innovation has delivered outstanding results in efficiency and commercial advantage.

Michael remains a Director with Gascoyne Gateway Limited following four years as Managing Director/CEO and remains a major shareholder.  He is also a working Director within Oropesa Port Management Pty Ltd and serves as founding Director of Thanardinyunguhu Pty Ltd – Australia’s first Indigenous owned Marine Services Company.  He has also fulfilled significant leadership roles in two ex-servicemen NFP organisations, serves as a Governor of the Leeuwin Sail Training Ship Foundation and is the owner/Chief winemaker of one of Western Australia’s most highly respected and awarded wineries.

Michael was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2004 for actions during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
